【摘要】:Thisstandardestablishesspecificrequirementsforportableradiationprotectioninstrumentsusedfordetectionandmeasurementoflevelsofionizingradiationfieldsorlevelsofradioactivesurfacecontamination.Forpurposesofthisstandard,portableradiationprotectioninstrumentsarethosebattery-poweredinstrumentsthatarecarriedtoaspecificfacilityorlocationforuse.NOTE--Theseinstrumentsarenormallyheldduringoperation.Countratemetersandsealers,whenusedwithanappropriateprobeforquantifyingactivity,canbeconsideredportableradiationprotectioninstrumentsandtreatedasasingleunitforthepurposesofthisstandard.Specificrequirementsforcalibrationoflow-range[i.e.,nearbackgroundto10μSv/h(1mrem/h)]1portablesurveyinstrumentswillbedetailedinANSIN323B(currentlyunderdevelopment).SpecificrequirementsforallairmonitoringinstrumentswillbedetailedinANSIN323C(currentlyunderdevelopment).Specificrequirementsforinstalledinstrumentsthatmeasuredoseordoseequivalent,ordoserateordoseequivalentrate,andACpoweredinstrumentsusedonlytodetectthepresenceofradioactivematerialcontaminationwillbedetailedinANSIN323D(currentlyunderdevelopment).Radiationprotectioninstrumentationprovidesdirectreadoutof,orreadoutproportionalto,doseordoseequivalent,doserateordoseequivalentrate,oractivityperunitarea(i.e.,effectiveprobearea).Includedareportablerateandintegratingdevicesforbeta,photon,andneutronradiations;andmonitorsforsurfacecontamination(alpha,beta,andphoton).Portableradiationprotectioninstrumentsintendedforuseinunderwatersurveyandmonitoringareincludedinthisstandard.Personneldosimeters(includingelectronicpocketdosimetersandhybridpocketdosimeters/doseequivalentratemeters)andenvironmentalmonitoringinstruments,otherthanportableinstrumentsusedtomeasurerad/horrem/hlevels,areoutsidethescopeofthisstandard.Radonmonitoringinstrumentsarenotwithinthescopeofthisstandard.Sincespecial-purposeinstrumentation,suchasemergencypost-accidentradiologicalmonitors,mayalsofallunderthescopeofoneormorerelatedANSIstandards,thisstandardisintendedtosupplementratherthanreplacethesestandards.Forexample,ANSIN42.17A-1989[133]setsforthrequirementsforinstrumentperformance.Ingeneral,radiationprotectioninstrumentationisconsideredtocoverthedoseanddoseequivalentraterangesforsurveymetersof10μGy/hto10Gy/h(1mrad/hto1000red/h)and10μSv/hto10Sv/h(1mrem/hto1000rein/h),andactivity-per-unit-arearangesforsurfacecontaminationmonitorsof2Bq/100cm2to20000Bn/100cm2(120dpm/100cm2to1.2x106dpm/100cm2).Throughoutthisstandard,threeverbshavebeenusedtoindicatetiledegreeofrigorintendedforeachspecificcriterion.Thewordshallisusedtodenotearequirement.Thewordshouldisusedtodenotearecommendation.Thewordmayisusedtodenoteapermissiblepractice.
